Estimation of Skid-Steered Wheeled Vehicle States Using STUKF with Adaptive Noise Adjustment

چکیده
Skid-steered wheeled vehicles are commonly adopted in outdoor environments with the benefits of mobility and flexible structure. However, different from Ackerman turning vehicles, skid-steered do not possess geometric constraint but only dynamic when steered, which leads to motion control state estimation problems for vehicles. The controlling accuracy a vehicle depends largely on feedback information sensors an observer. In this study, 3-DOF model using Brush nonlinear tire is built, first, 6 × flat ground driving conditions. Then, observer unscented Kalman filter strong tracking algorithm adaptive noise matrix adjustment (AN-STUKF) established estimate states based model. Finally, experiment carried out three conditions verify stability proposed method. results show that AN-STUKF method possesses better rate than traditional UKF, phenomenon ICRs shifting forward also verified.

Modeling of Skid-steered Wheeled Robotic Vehicles on Sloped Terrains
Skid-steered robots are commonly used in outdoor applications due to their mechanical simplicity, high maneuverability, and robustness. The maneuverability of these robots allows them, under ideal conditions (e.g., flat terrain and powerful actuators), to perform turning maneuvers ranging from point turns to straight line motion. However, sloped terrain, terrain with high friction, or actuator ...

متن کاملRobust Backstepping Control Based on a Lyapunov Redesign for Skid-Steered Wheeled Mobile Robots
This paper represents a robust backstepping tracking control based on a Lyapunov redesign for Skid‐Steered Wheeled Mobile Robots (WMRs). We present kinematic and dynamic models that explicitly relate the perturbations to the skidding in order to improve the tracking performance during real running. A robust controller is synthesized in the backstepping approach ...
متن کاملKinetic Model of a Skid Steered Robot
The paper introduces mathematical models of a skid steered mobile platform for robotics. The platform consists of a rectangular steel construction with four wheels. Two banks of two drive wheels on each side are linked to two DC electrical motors via chain on sprocket drive and gearing. The two drive assemblies for the left and right banks are identical but they operate independently to steer t...
متن کاملImproved dead reckoning using caster wheel sensing on a differentially steered three-wheeled autonomous vehicle
A differentially steered three-wheeled vehicle has proven to be an effective platform for outdoor navigation. Many applications for this vehicle configuration, including planetary exploration and landmine/UXO location, require accurate localization. In spite of known problems, odometry, also called dead reckoning, remains one of the least expensive and most popular methods for localization. Thi...
